Buying Event Tickets Online
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008
There are many advantages for buying concert, sports and theatre tickets online. There are a lot of people out there using their computers to buy cheap tickets and this has created an Internet explosion by making the competition for the same ticket at the same time very fierce. Here are a few tips on how to get the edge on the competition.
If you need your tickets fast then you are definitely going to be at a disadvantage if you are still using a dial up connection to the internet. You will also need to know what time zone the tickets first go on sale in so that you can get in at the very beginning of the sale.
If you are looking for tickets for the 2009 World Series tickets or Super Bowl tickets, you will definitely want to be at the head of the line. Super Bowl tickets go pretty fast
Many ticket websites require you need to set up an account so be already, set it up and be waiting at the website. This will save you the time of typing all of your personal information in during your purchase.
Make sure that you are at the event page up and ready when the tickets go on sale. Otherwise, if you are at the home page, it may take you a while to get to the event page; therefore, there is a chance of getting shut out with all of the other traffic. If you are early, you’ll want to get your refresh button every few seconds until it takes you to the actual order page at the sale time. Make sure you know how many tickets you want to buy and search. There is usually a maximum number of tickets you can purchase. It could be anywhere from two to eight in one purchase.
Make sure you have checked the venue map of the actual stage set up and no what is available. A sporting event seat map would not be accurate for an end stage concert. You can always click on the venue map to view it, but this takes time, so try to do it before you even attempt to buy your tickets. Print it out and have it on hand.
When your search pops up and the seats are acceptable, then you can finish your purchase quickly. If the seats are not acceptable you can always search as many times as you want without pestering an agent to do it for you! Sometimes the box office will release the seats in intervals, and sometimes the quality seats will be released all at once. Just keep in mind that once you search again, you are releasing the seats in the prior search!
The advantages to buying online are that you have control over the time you get into the site. You are prepared by having an account set up and your order page ready to go.
The disadvantage, many times, is that you may have to pay a shipping fee on top of the service charge. You could also get locked out of the site due to heavy traffic or having too many browsers open on your computer.
So remember, be prepared the next time you want to order your Masters tickets.
