Sunday, November 9th, 2008

I hope you had 2008 World Series tickets or lease the last game of it. It will be remembered for the rain delays that caused the game to end at 2 AM on through to a 3-inning finish. The series made history in other ways like 3, 1 run games and the oldest starting pitcher to play in a series. The ticket stubs for these games will be collector’s items for years to come. Just like the 2009 Super Bowl tickets and the 2009 Masters Tickets will be

It took the Phillies 28 years to win another championship, but they did it in historical fashion. Long rain and violent winds not only delayed the end of the game but also drowned out a very entertaining one.

The series started with the Phillies winning the first game in St. Petersburg FL in front of a crowd of football fans ringing cowbells of all things. The Rays fought back the next night winning that game. Nevertheless, the third game is where the excitement really began with wild pitches and groundouts. Then BJ Upton became the first man since 1968 to steal three bases. The third game finally finished at 1:47 AM with the Phillies breaking the tie of 4-4. In addition, in game 4, the Rays fate was doomed after Mr. Howard hit two home runs.

Game 5 was history maker. First, the game was called due to tour it rains and high winds. For the next 2 days, the players and the fans had to wait impatiently for the game to be completed. Then finally, the game resumed in the bottom of the sixth inning with a tied score of 2-2.

Wearing parkas and blankets on a freezing night, fans returned in force to Citizens Bank Park and saw the city claim its first major sports championship in 25 years. All the controversies as well as everything that happened over those 2 days prior to the game finishing were lost in the roar of 40,000 Philadelphians cheering as the Phillies won their 4th game and the World Series ticket 2008.

2008 World Series, Who Will Win the American League Championship? | 2008 World Series tickets

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Have you gotten your tickets for the 104th edition of Major League Baseball’s championship series, the 2008 World Series? The best-of-seven playoff will be played between the champions of the National League and the American League. The overall champion will be decided on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. The question is, will there be a game 7, if so it will take place on Thursday, October 30.

The World Series is played, postseason, each October between the championships of National League and the American League. Many years ago, the World Series was dubbed the “Fall Classic” by the media and it is sometimes known as the “October Classic” or simply “The Series”. It has been an annual event since 1903, with the exceptions of 1904 in 1994. Seven games are played and the a team that wins the most out of that 7 is the World Series champion. Except in the years 1903, 1919, 1920 and 1921 when 9 games were played.

Just like the Super Bowl 2009 winners, the winners will receive a trophy and the players will receive rings. They also give a larger portion of the receipts from the gate and the losers do.

The New York Yankees in the American League hold the record for most games played, 39, and the most games won, 26, of the World Series championships. They Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League hold the current record for the most games played, 18, I have only one 6 championships. The St. Louis Cardinals hold the record for the most games one, 10, with their record of playing in the series at 17.

This year we have the American League’s Tampa Bay Rays vs. the Chicago Cubs. The Rays are not letting anybody kick sand in their faces. The Rays won their first victory of the series, 6-4, in their franchise history. They play their 2nd game on Friday, October 3 at 6 PM, which you can watch on Fox.

The American League’s Boston Red Sox vs. the Los Angeles Angels won 4-1 thanks to Jason base two-run homer. You can see their 2nd game on Friday, October 3 at 9:30 PM also on Fox. See below for a schedule of the American and National League for current standings.

Are You Ready to Get Your 2008 World Series Tickets? | 2008 World Series tickets

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Can you believe it is that time of the year again? That old baseball fever is spreading like wildfire. Tickets are selling faster than hotdogs. You just have to be there if your team is playing. Have you gotten your 2008 World Series tickets yet?

Traditionally, you would pick up the phone and call the team ticket sales office during the scheduled sale period. But, if you are not Johnny-on-the-spot, these tickets usually sell out within 30 minutes flat. Hopefully, the ticket agency or team provides multiple phone numbers to call so you can get your tickets. Or if you are lucky enough to have a friend, family member or coworker who has season tickets you might be able to get a ticket that way. As season-ticket holders they usually get the option to buy the tickets at face value so it would be nice to keep in touch with them.

If you are not that lucky you could always surf the Internet. Or you could log onto the team’s website and go to their tickets section. But that is really a long shot. Other than the team website, other sites such as Action Seating offer . Many times these sites sell the best tickets in the house because season ticket holders will put their tickets up for sale. You can also find tickets and more affordable sections on these sites as well. You might also try the ticket broker websites to purchase your tickets. Who knows, your ticket may be just a mouse click away.

Just make sure that you buy tickets from a reputable agent, broker or intermediary. There are those out there who will stand you real quick and you do not want that to happen to you. That would mean you would need to see your game! Just make sure that the website is secure and that they have a past history that vouches for their integrity. The best way to tell if they are a good side is they have a seal of approval from the Better Business Bureau, Verisign or other such organization on their site.

Remember - buy your World Series 2008 tickets well in advance of the game the opponents are decided, there is a good chance of getting tickets at better prices. At this point, the demand for tickets will be lower so the chances of finding exactly the seat you want are much better.

Another good sign that a site is reputable is that they sell for other events like the 2009 Masters tickets or 2009 Super Bowl tickets. Those sites that sell for events such as boxing, MLB, NFL, NCAA, NHL, MCS, NASCAR as well as concert and theater tickets are usually more reputable sites.
