While doing research for this article, I was surprised to find that 25% of students in CDL schools in NY were female. Today many women are considering a career in the trucking driving more than ever before. Women are finally starting to figure out that they can make money driving a truck either long-distance for locally. In fact, truck driving is one of the few professions that women make the same as their male counterparts.

It has already been proven, by many sources, that women are better drivers than men are. Therefore, it should not be any surprise to find out that women make excellent truck drivers and it is arguable that they make better truck drivers than men.

That means that a woman can find a solid career job with excellent pay and benefits as a truck driver. Several driving jobs pay top dollar and provide the ability to be home every day. A woman could easily get into the trucking industry and make $65,000-$90,000 in less than a year’s time. That is even better than the top paid college graduates get as starting pay.

If you are considering trying truck driving as a career, you need to get as much information as you can before you make your final decision. With 3,000,000 truck drivers on the road and 50,000 new drivers each year, the field of employment is narrowing.

A truck driving school in NY can be just as affordable as any other. Many training schools can give you information about applying for grants and trucking companies or pick up tuition for your training in exchange for employment contracts.
