2008 World Series, Who Will Win the American League Championship? | 2008 World Series tickets

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Have you gotten your tickets for the 104th edition of Major League Baseball’s championship series, the 2008 World Series? The best-of-seven playoff will be played between the champions of the National League and the American League. The overall champion will be decided on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. The question is, will there be a game 7, if so it will take place on Thursday, October 30.

The World Series is played, postseason, each October between the championships of National League and the American League. Many years ago, the World Series was dubbed the “Fall Classic” by the media and it is sometimes known as the “October Classic” or simply “The Series”. It has been an annual event since 1903, with the exceptions of 1904 in 1994. Seven games are played and the a team that wins the most out of that 7 is the World Series champion. Except in the years 1903, 1919, 1920 and 1921 when 9 games were played.

Just like the Super Bowl 2009 winners, the 2008 World Series winners will receive a trophy and the players will receive rings. They also give a larger portion of the receipts from the gate and the losers do.

The New York Yankees in the American League hold the record for most games played, 39, and the most games won, 26, of the World Series championships. They Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League hold the current record for the most games played, 18, I have only one 6 championships. The St. Louis Cardinals hold the record for the most games one, 10, with their record of playing in the series at 17.

This year we have the American League’s Tampa Bay Rays vs. the Chicago Cubs. The Rays are not letting anybody kick sand in their faces. The Rays won their first victory of the series, 6-4, in their franchise history. They play their 2nd game on Friday, October 3 at 6 PM, which you can watch on Fox.

The American League’s Boston Red Sox vs. the Los Angeles Angels won 4-1 thanks to Jason base two-run homer. You can see their 2nd game on Friday, October 3 at 9:30 PM also on Fox. See below for a schedule of the American and National League for current standings.

What is it about Baseball? | 2008 World Series tickets

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Every year, World Series baseball tickets are in high demand around the world and not just across the USA. Getting passes to see a ball game has become part of American culture as well as in places as far away as Japan.

Many people say that baseball originated in England and it might be so with their game of cricket. But they would not be calling baseball and All-American game if we did not invent it. It has been termed the national past time since the 1870s. In fact, the first World Series was in 1903 and has become one of the most popular sporting events in the country. Tickets to see the World Series are the most sought after baseball tickets.

Babe Ruth was the first player to change the face of baseball by being a power hitter. Prior to him, the pitcher dominated the games. Baseball has endured through scandals like the 1919 World Series and more recently in 1994 when the players canceled the World Series because of a strike. It survives even when the fans do not come to the games.

Baseball is more than just a sport. It has woven its way into the American lifestyle and become a part of everybody’s like. Look at the baseball cap; it has become such a common sight around the world that many do not realize its connection to the game anymore. It has inspired movies like bull durum and Field of dreams and even comedy acts like Abbott and Costello’s ‘Who’s on First?’ have their roots in baseball. Then something that was started as an advertising ploy has become a multimillion-dollar industry, collecting baseball cards. Some baseball cards will sell in the millions of dollars. Even game attendance is around 70 million spectators a year.

Today, the science of baseball has become very important to not only the player with the team owners as well. It has become a much faster and slicker game than it ever used the period with training and conditioning players can be better than they used to be. Team owners will invest thousands of dollars and hours of time just in studying batting averages for the physics behind certain types of pitches.

But, with all these advancements it has also become easier to get your World Series 2008 tickets right from home. You can order them right over the Internet via an authorized ticket vendor. Getting tickets is not always easy, not just for baseball but for Masters 2009 tickets or even Superbowl 2009 tickets.

Are You Ready to Get Your 2008 World Series Tickets? | 2008 World Series tickets

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Can you believe it is that time of the year again? That old baseball fever is spreading like wildfire. Tickets are selling faster than hotdogs. You just have to be there if your team is playing. Have you gotten your 2008 World Series tickets yet?

Traditionally, you would pick up the phone and call the team ticket sales office during the scheduled sale period. But, if you are not Johnny-on-the-spot, these tickets usually sell out within 30 minutes flat. Hopefully, the ticket agency or team provides multiple phone numbers to call so you can get your tickets. Or if you are lucky enough to have a friend, family member or coworker who has season tickets you might be able to get a ticket that way. As season-ticket holders they usually get the option to buy the tickets at face value so it would be nice to keep in touch with them.

If you are not that lucky you could always surf the Internet. Or you could log onto the team’s website and go to their tickets section. But that is really a long shot. Other than the team website, other sites such as Action Seating offer . Many times these sites sell the best tickets in the house because season ticket holders will put their tickets up for sale. You can also find tickets and more affordable sections on these sites as well. You might also try the ticket broker websites to purchase your tickets. Who knows, your ticket may be just a mouse click away.

Just make sure that you buy tickets from a reputable agent, broker or intermediary. There are those out there who will stand you real quick and you do not want that to happen to you. That would mean you would need to see your game! Just make sure that the website is secure and that they have a past history that vouches for their integrity. The best way to tell if they are a good side is they have a seal of approval from the Better Business Bureau, Verisign or other such organization on their site.

Remember - buy your World Series 2008 tickets well in advance of the game the opponents are decided, there is a good chance of getting tickets at better prices. At this point, the demand for tickets will be lower so the chances of finding exactly the seat you want are much better.

Another good sign that a site is reputable is that they sell for other events like the 2009 Masters tickets or 2009 Super Bowl tickets. Those sites that sell for events such as boxing, MLB, NFL, NCAA, NHL, MCS, NASCAR as well as concert and theater tickets are usually more reputable sites.

Getting Your Baseball Tickets Online

Tickets 2It has become a national pastime every spring for fans everywhere to scramble to buy tickets for Major league baseball games throughout the season. Then the fans scramble to get the 2008 World Series tickets. For almost a century and seven lined up outside ticket offices everywhere. Just hoping to land in opening day ticket and tickets to games against their biggest rivals. More recently things have changed. Laws have changed to protect fans against scalpers that would charge more than face value for tickets. Fans no longer have to wait outside ticket offices. With the advancements in tech knowledge he and the increased availability of the Internet buying tickets have never been easier. Now fans can buy tickets direct from the comfort of your own home. Of course, the ability to purchase tickets so easily as increased their demand, even more so for big gains, and with the increasing demand games sell out quicker. Of course if the game is sold out you could always go to through the secondary ticket

All that really is is the reselling of tickets to a new buyer. The secondary market does rely on supply and demand. Many think of the secondary market as scalping, but it is a highly competitive area. You can make a great deal if you know how to shop. In baseball there are 162 games played each season so the supply is high and demand is relatively low. Unless it happens to be a marquee game where the demand is very high. What many fans do not realize is that the non-marquee games are often sold at less than face value due to the lack of demand. Knowing the demand placed on tickets will make you a better ticket shopper and if you just want to see your favorite team, there are some outstanding deals out there.

Diehard sports fans have a great deal of knowledge about the ticket industry and which games will be bargains is only part of that knowledge. The most important of that knowledge is where to buy the tickets from. If you have spent any time online looking for sports tickets you will realize there is no shortage. It makes no difference if you are looking for 2009 Masters Tickets, 2008 World Series tickets or 2009 Superbowl tickets it may seem simple to search around and find the lowest prices, but there is much more to finding good deals on sports tickets.

What many ticket buyers do not realize is that many online brokers and ticket exchanges hide service fees and outrageous shipping and handling charges until the time of checkout. So before you buy tickets online always make sure you compare prices AFTER these fees have been applied.

Valuable Tips for Golf

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

Golf 1We learn a lot from just observing the pros and it is easy to pick up valuable tips for golf that can help our own game. Do you have your 2009 Masters tickets yet?
Make no mistake about it, to pick the really valuable tips for golf from the professionals; you will need to be very observant and the best place to be to make those observations is right there watching them do it. Many times you will need to watch and listen keenly so arriving at the venue early is your best bet.

One of the things the pros never do is arrive late. Arriving late they find their tee time has arrived and they must hurry to take their positions. This situation means that the golfer starts the game with stiff muscles and having not gotten a feel of the ball or the green before the start of the game (no practice swings).

This is the most critical because it helps you perform at your best. Your skills gained from hours of practice and all the other tips for golf, will be of little use if you start a game without any sort of warm up.

The professionals will inform you that a warm up should involve first warming up your muscles and then stretching them, especially the golf-specific ones that you will strain during your golf swing.

Once you have warmed up those muscles you can then move on to the ball and hit 20-30 balls as you continue loosen up slowly. Start with a short iron and progress up the longer clubs. Try and see if you can get a feel for your swing.

Anyone who tries out these tips from the professionals for golf will find that their game will dramatically improve and they can avoid sore muscles the next morning after a hard game.

No matter what game you are playing watching the professionals in person. You can get tips on how to perform that particular sport better, whether it is golf, football, baseball or basketball. I would recommend going to a tournament or championship game. You can get the 2009 Super Bowl tickets, 2008 World Series tickets or 2009 Masters Tickets at Action Seating. They have the cheapest tickets on the Internet.
