A Few Father’s Day Gift Ideas and Advice

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

How does that old saying go, “Mother’s Day is a 9 months after Father’s Day“? In reality, that depends on what year it is because Mother’s Day never falls on the same day. It is always on a Sunday, just like Father’s Day.

What do you plan for this Father’s Day? Some people relish the idea of a special day set aside just to celebrate fatherhood. Others are pessimistic and believe it is only a holiday made up for businesses to make a major haul. No matter how you look at Father’s Day Day, this is a day to give your father or someone else’s father a special gift. The gift can be extravagant or it can be a small handmade gift from the heart. Either way it can be a tough decision about what type of gift to give.

The most common of all fathers Day gifts are cards or tools. Cards certainly not the most expensive, however, they can be the most appreciated. The trick is to find the card that best expresses your true feelings for your father. You may be lucky and find a card already printed with your exact sentiments or you may need to get a blank card to write your own expression of love. Typically hand tools or garden tools are given to fathers. But, did you ever think dear old dad might like something different for Father’s Day?

One of the more extravagant of the gifts would be to take your father on a trip. Even just for one night or for a whole week, Airplane1a getaway gift would be a big hit. Some really nice getaways can be to a local hotel with a special dinner or a private jet charter flight to a Caribbean island where you can arrange a romantic sunset dinner on the beach for him and your mother. There are many Caribbean resorts specializing in vacations. If you really want to be extravagant you can be served a gourmet meal on board the flight and champagne on board a luxury private jet.

These are just a few ideas for Father’s Day gifts and they certainly are not the only ones. Any gift your loved one would appreciate would be appropriate. Especially appropriate if you have received hints about what he wants. Even a toaster would be appreciated if that is what they truly wanted and needed. You need to take into consideration what your father would truly appreciate. You do not want to get just anything you can find at the last moment. Take some time to plan for your gift, he will appreciate it. Happy Father’s Day!

Does Size Matter?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

Pressure ThrustWell, that depends on your needs and budget when pricing private jet charters. There are light jets, medium or midsize jets and large or heavy jets to choose from. And the cost ranges from $2000-$8,000 depending on your destination.

The smallest class of business jet is the light jet. They have an average cabin height 4′ 6″ with a cabin with a 5 feet and a cabin length of approximately 14 feet. They can seat 6-8 passengers. Of course with a full contingent of passengers seating could get tight and limit the baggage space. Also moving about the cabin could be a little difficult because of the limited space. That makes this aircraft best suited for groups of 6 or less, flying 3 hours or less per trip. This size would be perfect for quick corporate jet charter.

The next size of business jet is a midsize jet, which have an average cabin height of 5′6″ with cabin height of 6 feet and cabin length of about 25 feet. This size jet is also geared for 6-8 passengers with the difference being that a full load of passengers can be seated in comfort and there is ample room for baggage. Now this can vary depending on the aircraft model. That makes this size best suited for groups of up to 8 flying up to 5 hours per trip.

Heavy or large jets are the biggest class of business jets and have an average cabin height of over 6 feet, which classifies them as a true standup cabin. Normally the width of the cabin is approximately 7′6″ with the lengths ranging between 28-50 depending on the make and model of the aircraft. They can carry between 9-16 passengers’ complete comfort and you would probably have flight attendants with the size of jet. They are usually better suited for large groups and intercontinental travel.

So just remember when chartering a business jet, bigger is not always better. The best jet is always the one best suited to your needs. One that has enough space for you and your group as well as luggage and will get you to your destination nonstop with all the amenities you need and expect for your trip.

Avoid the Nightmare of Flying | luxury private jets

You are setting in a seat that was advertised as comfortable with lots of leg room. You wonder what happened to the seat. There is a child behind you that alternates between kicking the back of your seat and screaming at the top of his lungs. On one side of you is someone who should be in a larger seat and on the other side is a gentleman who snores in a very unusual rhythmic fashion. The in-flight movie for this airline is in Spanish not English and you are wondering why. The worst part is that when you try to get out of your seat to go to the restroom it takes 20 minutes and then the rest room is occupied.

Drunk FlyerThe in-flight meal that you are served taste more like cardboard than the steak it is supposed to be. You also feel like you are trapped because you must keep your seat belt on when seated all the time. The plane keeps bouncing around because of the worst turbulence you have ever experienced in your life. While trapped in your seat you must endure wonderful odors of somebody who has a gassy problem and yet still another one has not taken a shower in weeks. The odor becomes so bad that you are actually beginning to gasp for air.

You finally cannot take it any longer and ask the stewardess to upgrade you to first class from your business class accommodations. She explains the cost of doing so to you, which is astronomical and would have cost you less if you had purchased a first-class ticket in the first place.

Once you get to first-class you figure you should have a better seat, it will be quieter and the odors will be gone only to find that there is a party going on. The music is extremely loud and some of the passengers are tipsy if not outright drunk. And the smell, let’s just just say somebody drank a little too much. But, you find the restroom is unoccupied! Only to discover that it has not been fleshed for while and you try to flush it.

You quickly discover why it had not been fleshed. The drain is clogged! As the blue smelly fluid begins to overflow you try to get out of the bathroom. Unfortunately, you cannot because the door is now stuck. You pound and kick the door to no avail. As your new leather shoes begin to be covered by the blue smelly fluid and it slowly rises up to your knees you begin to feel dizzy and sick like you are about to pass out. You begin to pound harder on the door and nobody comes to your rescue.

NightmareSuddenly, you find yourself sitting up in a sweat soaked bed. Sweat is rolling down your face when you realize the alarm is going off and it was all a nightmare. You swing your legs over the edge the bed and sit up, turn off the alarm, and begin to relax. You wiped the sweat from your brow as you see the suitcases sitting on the floor across the room. That is when you remember that you have a business trip today and you notice the airplane ticket on your nightstand. Suddenly your heart rate increases again and sweat begins to pop out on your forehead.

You stand up and shake your head. Telling yourself it was just a nightmare nothing more. You decide to take a shower and relax before your flight. The hot water beating down on your body begins to relax you and wake you up and you begin to forget about your nightmare. As you are exiting your shower and begin to dry off your partner comes in and reminds you of your flight and that you should hurry or you miss your flight. The image of being trapped in that airplane bathroom comes to mind.

You reply, “No, I won’t miss it. Call and cancel it.”

“Cancel it?” Your partner replies slightly puzzled. “If you cancel it you will lose business.”

“I’m not going to lose any business.” You reply confidently. “Because I am going to get a private luxury jet.”

“Private jet?” Now your partner is really confused. “That is awfully expensive, isn’t it?”

Relaxing Flight“Not if you think about the benefits I will gain from using one.” You explain as you dress. “I will have peace and quiet, I will have privacy to work, I will be comfortable and relaxed. I will not have to worry about the pushing and shoving that you normally get on a commercial flight and I know my luggage will be there when I get off the flight!”

“Okay, I will call a private jet charter service for you and set it up.” Your partner replies as they leave the room. They turn and say, “You realize that you can take the trip off your taxes, right? It is a business trip after all.” The door slowly closes behind your partner as you realize the benefits of that nightmare.
